Honoring Veterans Through Riding
The American Legion Riders, Department of Florida, provide a myriad of programs to benefit veterans and their families, as well as the community.

Legacy Run
The American Legacy Scholarship is set up to provide college scholarships to the offspring of fallen service men and women. The American Legion Riders contribute close to $75,000 annually to the fund. The money is raised through sponsorships and donations for the annual ride from National Headquarters to the convention city. In addition, Florida hosts its own in-state ride which contributes to the national fund
Veteran's Run
The Riders provide motorcycle escorts for veterans and families. We are there for returning soldiers and for funeral escorts. We escort the POWs and the Traveling Memorials. We stand guard. We set flag lines and provide ceremonies along with the Post Honor Guard. The thunder of our engines is often used to insulate families of the fallen from the disrespectful.
Community Support
The Riders support local communities in many ways. We orchestrate and participate in events that raise money for schools, Toys for Tots, hospice programs, hospitals, and the list goes on. We participate in ceremonies that honor community heros such as first responders and law enforcement personnel.
